Man City & Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero was rushed to hospital on Tuesday in Russia.
The Manchester City striker blacked out in the Argentina dressing room at halftime during a friendly with Nigeria.
After fainting in the locker room, Aguero was immediately transported to hospital.
The Argentine Football Association posted an update on Aguero’s health on their official Twitter account.
They confirmed that the Man City forward “had a blackout and was taken [to hospital] so routine examinations were made only as a precaution”.
Man City have also reported on the incident. They’ve confirmed Aguero had a “dizzy spell”, adding:
Sergio never lost consciousness, and was taken to hospital for precautionary medical checks.
He will be assessed by the club’s medical team ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Leicester City.
Aguero has since been discharged from hospital, while he’s been given the green light to return to Manchester.
Of course, Aguero recently had to spent time in hospital after he was involved in a car crash in Amsterdam.
Argentina 2 – Nigeria 4
As to the match itself, Argentina blew a 2-goal lead against Nigeria.
Ever Banega and Aguero fired the South Americans into a 2-goal lead, before Leicester forward Kelechi Iheanacho pulled a goal back for Nigeria just before halftime.
After the break, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi scored twice and Brian Idowu also found the net in an excellent Super Eagles comeback win.
Man City v Leicester
Manchester City play Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday and Aguero must now be considered a major doubt for that match.
